When I started working for Postbank in early 2012, the perception of Postbank among people was still that of a traditional branch bank. Established competitors and especially small and fast FinTech startups threatened to outpace Postbank in the course of digital transformation. There were sporadic digital solutions, but in terms of user experience, speed, and design language, they were neither state-of-the-art nor consistent.

Approach

Through intensive consultation, a focus on user-centered design, testing, rapid prototyping, and design thinking methods, we have created a diverse universe of digital solutions for Postbank. From the complete overhaul of customer portals to digital financial advice and straightforward digital product sign-ups, we have succeeded in guiding Postbank into a new era of digitalization.

Impact

In my role as Design Lead and Senior Art Director, I was responsible for the entire visual design and brand management of Postbank’s digital solutions. This included developing a consistent design concept that reflected the brand’s identity while ensuring an outstanding user experience. Through close collaboration with other teams, inhouse and external developers  as well as marketing experts, I ensured that the design seamlessly integrated into the technical implementation while supporting Postbank’s strategic goals. Our efforts not only led to a significant improvement in Postbank’s digital presence but also increased customer satisfaction and loyalty in an increasingly digitized financial world.
