I’m Mikko,
a digital creative.

Welcome! It’s wonderful to see you’ve found your way here. In the last 20 years, I have primarily worked as a freelance Art Director, but I have also held positions as a Creative Director and Designer in agencies like Nolte&Lauth (ExperienceOne) and Mediaworx. In recent years, I have managed long-term projects and have spent a significant amount of time in digital product development setting up lean methodologies and evolving several products and their strategies.

I’m interested in projects that allow me to explore new technologies such as AI, Web3, React, and Animation Frameworks. Working collaboratively within a team environment is something I particularly enjoy and find rewarding.

I use all design tools, prototyping software, and 3D applications, but what sets projects apart for me is empathy, curiosity, and drive to „make s**t look good“. I’m fluent in german, english and finnish.

No matter whether I’m designing interfaces, producing bass-heavy hip-hop beats, dribbling a basketball on the court, or renovating my kitchen—I always let intuition, analysis, and strategy work together as guiding principles.

Intuition fuels curiosity, allowing me to explore new topics and situations without constraints, uncovering hidden potentials from multiple perspectives. It sparks creativity, fosters innovation, and ensures that the human element remains at the heart of everything I create.

Analysis drives decision-making, providing structure to ideas, breaking down complexities, and assessing patterns. I apply critical thinking and research, to ensure that every concept is built on solid reasoning, balancing creativity with logic to craft effective, scalable solutions.

Strategy shapes execution, ensuring that vision translates into reality with purpose and precision. Every move is intentional, aligned with broader objectives, and adaptable to future challenges. A well-defined strategy transforms ideas into meaningful, long-term impact.

Over 20 years of experience in questioning, listening, researching, and crafting solutions have taught me that the best outcomes emerge when intuition, analysis, and strategy work in harmony. When designing and making things usable, we aim to evoke emotions, solve real problems, and create lasting value—whether it’s about buying a car, managing a team’s workflow, or booking a laughing yoga class.

Creativity shouldn’t exist in isolation, nor should logic or planning. By embracing all three, we ensure that every idea is inspired, every decision is informed, and every execution is impactful.
